Ancient Amazonia is a UK superfood brand sourcing nutrient-dense powders, supplements, and functional ingredients directly from the Amazon rainforest. Their range includes acai, camu camu, maca, lucuma, and other Amazonian botanicals that have been used medicinally for centuries and are now being embraced by the health and wellness community for their antioxidant, adaptogenic, and nutritional properties. The brand is built on direct sourcing relationships with communities in the Amazon basin.
The Challenge
Superfood brands face a double credibility challenge: the category is saturated with products making similar health claims, and customers buying for health reasons are both motivated and sceptical. Ancient Amazonia had a genuine sourcing story and real product quality, but the store wasn't translating that into the kind of trust and education that converts a health-interested browser into a committed buyer.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the store around sourcing transparency and nutritional education. The origin story — the specific communities, the traditional uses, the ethical sourcing model — was given homepage prominence as the primary brand differentiator. Product pages were redesigned to lead with the specific health properties of each ingredient, the research behind the claims, and practical usage guidance.
Recipe content and daily routine integration guides were woven into the store to help customers understand how to actually use superfoods in their lives — removing the biggest barrier to first purchase and increasing basket size. Subscription was positioned as the natural choice for daily routine staples. Mobile was fully optimised.
