Overview
BudoBoost is a performance nutrition brand built specifically for martial artists and combat sports athletes. Their range covers pre-workout formulas, recovery supplements, protein, and functional nutrition products designed around the specific demands of training in BJJ, MMA, Muay Thai, wrestling, and other grappling and striking disciplines. The brand is built for a community that trains twice a day, competes seriously, and is deeply sceptical of generic sports supplement brands that have no understanding of what combat sports training actually demands.
The Challenge
The sports supplement market is dominated by large brands with massive marketing budgets and generic formulas. A niche brand targeting martial artists needs to prove it belongs to the community — that it understands the demands of rolling, sparring, and competing, and that its formulas are designed around those demands rather than repurposed from bodybuilding protocols.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the store to speak the language of the martial arts community. Product pages were redesigned around training demand context — what each formula does specifically for recovery between sessions, endurance during long rolls, or focus during technical drilling. Community content, athlete testimonials, and competition stories were integrated throughout to show the brand living inside the sport.
Bundle stacks were built around training phases and competition prep to increase AOV. Subscription was positioned as the natural default for daily training staples. The brand's community-building initiatives — gym partnerships, athlete sponsorship — were given homepage visibility to build credibility. Mobile was fully optimised.
