Metal And Stone is an Australian brand offering premium homewares and decorative objects crafted from natural stone and metal. Their pieces are designed for permanence — considered, material-led objects that bring warmth and texture to living spaces. The brand positions itself at the intersection of craftsmanship and contemporary interior design.
The Challenge
Premium homewares require a very specific kind of eCommerce experience. Customers need to feel the quality before they can commit to a price point — and that feeling comes almost entirely from how products are presented online. Metal And Stone's existing store wasn't doing the materials justice. Imagery was under-utilised, product descriptions didn't communicate the weight and permanence of the pieces, and the navigation wasn't helping customers visualise the products in their own space.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the store around material storytelling. Large-format imagery, detailed texture shots, and lifestyle photography were given the layout space they needed to communicate the quality of each piece. Product pages were rewritten to lead with material origin, production process, and care instructions — building the case for the price before the customer even reaches the add-to-cart button.
Navigation was restructured by material type and room, making discovery intuitive for interior-conscious shoppers. Gifting pathways were introduced as a high-intent secondary journey. Mobile performance was optimised throughout.
