Their range covers structural steel coatings, floor paints, anti-corrosion primers, line marking, and specialist finishes — products that require technical knowledge to specify correctly and significant trust to purchase online.
The Challenge
Industrial B2B eCommerce has unique demands. Trade buyers need technical specifications, product compatibility information, and volume pricing — not the consumer experience most Shopify themes are built around. The original store wasn't structured for a professional audience: product pages lacked the specification depth trade buyers require, navigation didn't support their use-case-based purchase behaviour, and the overall experience communicated retail rather than trade.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the store from the ground up for a trade and industrial buyer. Navigation was restructured around application type — steel, concrete, floor, structural, anti-corrosion — so buyers could find the right product for their specific job without needing to know brand names or product codes. Product pages were redesigned with full technical specifications, surface compatibility guides, and application instructions embedded directly.
Volume pricing tiers were introduced to reflect trade purchasing behaviour. The quote request flow was streamlined for large-order buyers. Trust signals specific to the trade audience — industry certifications, specification sheets, and technical support availability — were elevated throughout. Mobile performance was optimised for buyers accessing the store on-site.
