Overview
Voort Studio is a Dutch design studio creating handcrafted furniture and objects from reclaimed and sustainably sourced materials. Each piece is designed and built with a deliberate respect for the material — wood that has a previous life, metal with patina and history. The studio sits at the intersection of architecture and craft, producing objects that are meant to age beautifully and last for generations rather than seasons.
The Challenge
Handcrafted furniture is one of the most trust-intensive purchases a customer can make online. The lead time is long, the price point is high, and the product is almost impossible to evaluate from a thumbnail image. The store needed to communicate the studio's craft philosophy, make the material and production story visceral enough to justify the wait and the price, and convert interest into an inquiry or commission.
Our Approach
We built the store to feel like a studio visit. The founding philosophy — material honesty, the mark of the hand, objects that outlast trends — was placed at the front of the experience rather than buried in an about page. Each product page was given the space to tell the story of its materials: where they came from, how they were worked, and what makes each piece unique.
The commission and bespoke inquiry flow was redesigned to feel accessible rather than intimidating. Lead time and production context were built into the product pages to set expectations clearly. Portfolio and process photography were given full-width editorial treatment throughout. Mobile was optimised for a design-conscious audience who discover via Instagram.
